ebay ss clutch hose

Alright I've read a couple threads addressing the issue of the clutch pedal sticking to the ground and they all led to one conclusion: "Stainless Steel Clutch hose". I ordered the one on eBay that everyone has and i need some serious guidance on where exactly does the line go? Pictures would be a TON of help but im really looking for any $.02 at all.

Re: ebay ss clutch hose

I installed one of those about 4 years ago. It's been working great. It's easy to install. The line goes from the clutch damper which is mounted on the passenger inner wheel well, to the clutch slave cylinder mounted to the transmission near the front motor mount. I don't have any pics, but I'll see if I can find a drawing for you. The main thing is bleeding it after you install it. It's best to have a helper if you don't have a speed bleeder installed on the slave cylinder.

Edit: Here is a drawing from hondapartsnow.com. It doesn't really show where it's mounted but it should give you an idea of what it's connected to. The hose you will be replacing is #25 (the hose is actually an assembly of several parts)...

Re: ebay ss clutch hose

Lol, don't sweat it. It really isn't a hard job. You'll need to remove some of the stock intake piping if you still have it. The soft line is kind of tucked in there. And it's fastened somewhere around the battery tray if I remember correctly. Just take your time and you will be fine. Post up if you run into any problems, but I don't expect that you will.

Re: ebay ss clutch hose

Try to keep it clean when installing. It is best to clean the areas before disconnecting stuff.

Re: ebay ss clutch hose

Take your time and you'll be fine. Just make sure to give yourself a couple of hours to do it so that you don't get in a hurry. And make sure you will have someone there to help bleed the system after you replace the line.

Yea, it is really easy to DIY. Do you have a manual for the car? Those help to get the wheels turning. Even though I know these cars like the back of my hand, I still sit and read the manuals before doing the work. Sometimes it eases the mind, or I can recall what tools I used last time.

Here, I am hosting the biggest PDF manual I have found for the car. Yes, there are many versions of this manual, but here is the most complete I've come across:

http://www.preludebible.com/service-...e_Download.pdf

^ 35.4mb file RIGHT-CLICK -> SAVE LINK AS, or DOWNLOAD TARGET.

You would be downloading the entire manual to your hard disk. If you want the faster version, use the link in my signature below in large, blue font.

Link to said part: Stainless Steel Clutch hose 1991 prelude | eBay

I see 4 or 5 brands, which one is the recommended part, or all they all the same?
