2nd 3rd gen couldn't pass up

I just bought another lude, a 90 si 5 speed garage kept, mint condition with only 18,000 miles on it. I just lucked into it. Drove it home from philly (about 200 miles) and it ran and drove like a top. Had mechanic look it over and he was amazed at how perfect the car is. Only problem area is some surface rust on the stock muffler. I already did an oil change (before driving home) and Im going to change all fluids, just to be on the safe side, belts are in great shape as are all the hoses. Any suggestions of how to break this low mileage lude in would be appreciated. Sadly i may sell the 89 soon. We just have way to many vehicles right now lol

Re: 2nd 3rd gen couldn't pass up

1) Congrats! OMG! Pics pics pics pics!

2) What do you see yourself doing with this car? What's your end game?

3) Also, I assume it has a B21A1...IMO, this could be a golden opportunity for the WHOLE Prelude community. Personally, I'm curious if this engine, with the low miles that it has, burns oil like the rest of 'em, AND what this thing will dyno at.

4) Did you say you're 200 miles from Philly? Where you at?

Thanks, and welcome!

Re: 2nd 3rd gen couldn't pass up

If it has 18,000 original miles, keep it in the garage under a silk double-layer cover. Drive it only on weekends if you know what is good for you.

Some of the low-mileage and mint 3rd gen Preludes sell for up around $8,000. That is not a posted price, but an end-deal purchase price. Yes, find the right buyer. I'd pay $11,000 for an 18,000 miles Prelude if I had the money.

...it's not a Barrett-Jackson classic we're talking about, and what do you mean "know what is good for you"? Seriously?

Dude, you don't have to be hostile. These cars do have a good appraised value when they're in the described condition. That value goes down quickly with more miles. Not cool man.

Re: 2nd 3rd gen couldn't pass up

Congratulations in finding an awsome car. There's only one thing to do with any prelude. Drive it. Enjoy it. Post pics when you can. And keep a beater. That's the true car enthusiast strategy. It's worth as much as you want it to be.

We're waiting too, as far as I know there's only one other known 3rd gen with such low miles. It's the white one that girl owns on the other forum.

okay, no doubt, no doubt, it's all relative...but I still wouldn't consider these cars "classics"...no yet, at least not in the states. My point was, the guy can do whatever the heck he wants with the car, and I'm still scatching my head how I was being 'hostile', a phrase like "know what's good for you" seems more 'hostile' to me. not cool man.

Kenichi-san, what is your malfunction?

You know about cars and Honda's, we get it, now when are you going to be a 3rd gen lude brother?

Really? I either agree with you, or I don't, simple as that, I must have missed the part in my owner's manual about having to be a "3rd gen lude brother".

Don't get me wrong Trip, I respect everything you have done with your car, and everything you have contributed to this forum 100%! Outstanding! But I've done many face palms about a lot of other stuff you've said too.

If we can't keep some kind of civility between each other, no one will stay here, 6 posts in and it becomes that whole body above my words. I'm not calling anyone out because that also solves nothing. Stop cluttering the threads with antagonist sh*t. That guy had no chance to even make a second post in his own thread.

That is not cool. And the fact I need to point this out means there's a problem. And I'm pretty much a 24/7 trickster on here. You have every right to disagree, agree, whatever. But don't derail the thread. You wouldn't appreciate it.

Wait...what? It's a forum, you can post at any time, you think we scared him away? SINCE he hasn't posted, NOR answered any of our questions or comments, threads tend to fizzle out like this, til admins blocks it.

poor, poor guy....didn't even stand a chance.....
