o2 sensor: Bank 1 and 2

I'm getting a code 2 on my 'lude. Which sensor is the bank 2? I searched a lot and never found. I'll change both of them because they are not even the same.

Can this be the reason why i'm only getting 430km on a full tank??

Thanks!

Re: o2 sensor: Bank 1 and 2

Code 2 is Oxygen content B. I'm assuming that would be bank 2. Good idea to replace them both though. They are the same sensor, and if one is new and one is old it could cause problems. And if they are different brand sensors that may also cause problems. I've read that it's best to avoid Bosch o2 sensors for our engines.

A bad o2 sensor could definitely affect your fuel economy.

Re: o2 sensor: Bank 1 and 2

when i threw a code for bank 1 after cleaning my injection ports i replaced it with the denso i got off a site for 39 with shipping. oem and it cleared the cel. So bank 1 i would be sure is the first o2 sensor before the car and bank 2 is the o2 sensor right after the cat. good luck. hope this helped.

Alright well i have a 2000 and coming from the headers to the inlet of the cat would be bank 1 and after the cat near the outlet would be bank 2. unless slightly different

That's how it is. So you say that the one on driver's side is the bank 2?

Re: o2 sensor: Bank 1 and 2

Go to Amazon and buy these Denso parts numbers. DO NOT BUY GENERIC, DO NOT BUY BOSCH!!! You've been warned.

Here is the info I posted on another forum:

Here is the diagram from Majestic Honda, specifying two different parts for O2 sensors:

Honda Automotive Parts

Location -- Honda # -- Denso Stock# -- Denso Part# -- Denso Price
#14 -- 36531-PK2-013 -- 234-1006 -- 234-1006 -- $23.66
#15 -- 36532-PJ0-L02 -- 234-1017 -- 234-1017 -- $23.66

So lets go to the Denso website and cross reference the part numbers to buy the same (correct) O2 sensors for like $15-$25 each... (to be continued)

Denso # 234-1006 for $19 on Amazon:
Amazon.com: Denso 234-1006 Oxygen Sensor (Air and Fuel Ratio Sensor): Automotive

Denso # 234-1017 for $21 on Amazon:
Amazon.com: Denso 234-1017 Oxygen Sensor (Air and Fuel Ratio Sensor): Automotive

Now you have three sources and the exact matched part numbers to know exactly which O2 sensors are correct. I know this because I replaced mine when I installed the OBX header. I went through this process and spent more time tracking the part #'s down. It was worth every second I spent and now I share with you the information you need so please use it correctly.

*edit*
Also note the Majestic price is over $100/each. So using this information may save you $200-$300 to get the exact, correct part that was used from the factory when your Honda was made.

This is the 3rd gen area. We either have two o2 sensors in the exhaust manifold (side by side) or a single sensor in the downpipe near the flex. We don't have a sensor after the cat.
