Icon14 New to forum and new to Prelude 3G!

Hi,

My name is Damien. I'm 17 years old and i'm living in Québec, Canada (yeah, the place where it's -40C and where rust eats cars). I bought about 1 month ago this very clean Prelude S 1991 with 250 000km. It's my first car ever! My dad had one when he was young with 3 of his friends. There was 4 Prelude in his driveway sometimes, haha! B20A5 in it that puff a little bit of oil, but it still in great shape!

The master cylinder gave up on me on the road. Glad the handbrake worked It's the only thing that need to be replaced and the car is top notch! There car was repainted, but there is no rust under it because it was rustproofed.

Hope to find some help here sometime!

...and sorry for my bad english.

Re: New to forum and new to Prelude 3G!

A little bit of polishing on the trunk and roof and your car will be really clean, that and the center caps for the wheels.

Are you allowed to drive without a front license plate in Canada? If you are, I am jealous.

Do you have any plans for the car, upgrades, etc?

Welcome to PZ, I hope you enjoy it here. :)

Re: New to forum and new to Prelude 3G!

I did some polishing with a red compound. I'll do it with a real compound now. I only have 1 center cap. I found 2 of them at the junkyard on an old Accord, but they are stainless steel like.

This is the picture of the cap that I have and before/after the sanding

This is the new tires that I picked up for 140$ :D General Evertrek HP. Cheap tire, but for the price, they are really good! Better than my old Goodyear Assurance, that's for sure...

And for your plate question: Québec is the only province (town) in Canada that only have 1 license plate on the rear of the car. So yes, it's legal. It's the only thing that is good for cars here I must admit that a front license plate is ugly hehe.

I also plan to drop it (not very low, because of the winter), OBX headers and other goodies. Don't forget that i'm a student, so i'm not rich!

Re: New to forum and new to Prelude 3G!

I completely understand. I bought my 5th gen about 2 months ago and the stock wheels had 2 caps missing, I believe the cheapest I could find the online was like $50 for 2 used ones. I ended up biting the bullet and got now wheels when I learned that my stocks had dents in them.

Looks like you have some good plans for your car. It's going to turn out nice.

1990-1996 HONDA ACCORD WHEEL CENTER CAP HUBCAP 91 92 93 94 95 96 | eBay

They are not expensive, but i'm pretty sure they are not OEM.

I just finished the polishing. 2 hours of elbow grease (even if I have an air orbital sander). It looks really shinny now. The roof is still fade a little bit, but it's much better than before!

Heck, at that price, if you can swing it, get them.
As far as the roof, now just wax on, wax off, improve your karate skills and you are good young grasshopper

Can't say I have ever personally seen projectors on popup headlights but here is a thread from PZ detailing some.

Projector Headlights

My advice, do more research before buying lights from ebay.

Nice job by the way on cleaning up the interior.

Clean! Very clean! You've inspired me to the same for my interior. I hope you also have rust protect to keep it clean too.

Re: New to forum and new to Prelude 3G!

86-89 Honda Accord 7x6 H6054 Projector Headlights - Chrome :: Prelude :: Honda :: Lighting - Projector Headlights :: Dash Z Racing shows the same model number but has them listed as 86-89 preludes so I would say YES. They list HID upgrades in a drop down so I would assume they will handle the HID kits.

I sprayed the floor with an anti-rust red paint

And I highly suggest you to do the same!! It take about 5 hours and a complete day to dry the carpet, but after that, your car smells like new!

Re: New to forum and new to Prelude 3G!

very clean! I like the wind deflector on the sunroof, I want one! It also means I can open the sunroof to let the hot air out without having the sun beaming driectly into the car. Both very nice in the Australian summer!
