91 si alternator problems

So I just put in a new alternator and new battery, but for some reason my alternator wont charge correctly. At first the battery light would flicker and my lights would dim, now my alternator will not charge at all. Please help me out, this is my daily driver and i'm suffering right now.

Have you checked, and cleaned up all your grounds?

Yes I have, I checked the plug, it is in good shape, checked the grounds, I counted 3. One on the back wall, one on the top of the head, and the one on the battery. They are all in good shape. Are there any others grounds I am missing?

Re: 91 si alternator problems

Get a voltmeter and check it while running.Should be close to 14 volts. If not then your alt is no good.

Re: 91 si alternator problems

also check to see if you put enough tension on your belt but like lespaul said get it running and check the voltage and if you can run it down to autozone and they'll check it for you for free.... i know from experience from buying my first lude i had a similar problem, and these guys helped me out quite a bit.
