Icon5 Can clock fuse effect the ECM!???

so i recently replaced the fuse for my clock because my clock has been out since i bought it and i think that may have had an effect on the ecm if it wasn't seeing the signal from the egr system to actuate the solenoid??? am i crazy or is this just not possible??

(because the clock fuse is what you pull to reset the ecm) i don't know maybe i'm just so fed up with this problem that i can believe anything

Re: Can clock fuse effect the ECM!???

saw this on another form Might help
"The clock/radio fuse disconnects the constant-power to the memory section of the ECU, whereas the other fuse is switched-power (ie.: when ignition if on), and does NOT affect the memory. "

heres the link Radio Fuse or ECU fuse??? - Honda Prelude Forum - Prelude Online.com

Re: Can clock fuse effect the ECM!???

Yep. To clear the codes (CEL) from the ECU, you pull out the CLOCK fuse for 10-30 seconds. Haha

Turns out, if you drive the car without the CLOCK fuse, it will run the engine in "limp mode". Basically, low-output mode (slower) and runs extra rich with a retarded ignition timing. However, no codes will be stored, and the CEL will only come on in a dire situation.

I highly recommend you keep the CLOCK fuse in. Just plug the EGR valve into the wire harness and the ECU will not know the difference. FYI, advice for off-road use only.
