Blues? They're very good shocks, inexpensive, and work well with about any Japanese car.

Illuminas are the same story, but better because they're adjustable (5-way). I was able to get them dialed in to what I wanted with my '93 RX7 with Tanabe springs. I imagine that the D-Specs are great, too. I think they're infinitely adjustable. I jsu have no experience with them.

Does that help?

They are popular because they are the only aftermarket struts you can find, and purchase for our car!!

...the illuminas & d specs are no more for the 3rd gen Prelude.

I'm using Tokico HP's(blues). I have no complaints.

Depends. The 3g is low as it is from the factory...if you live in a major city, i would think twice of slamming the car...

You have a few choices, Neuspeed, Eibach, H&R, Intrax, Ground control coilovers...etc.

haha there is no way in hell im slamming my car.
i hate the way they sit too many slammed cars here and they dont have any caster or camber adjustments so the wheels are angled disgustingly uugh..
but yea haha i only wanna dropp it 1.5 to 2in maybe and just for performance cornering.

2 inch is SLAMMING the car!!!

Actually, they do sell camber kits, see here & what happened to me:
Ingals camber correction kit...

You're safe with a 1.5 drop in my opinion...

haha i feel like a dumbass, sorry on my part >.<
hah..
ive seen a 1.5in drop on an 89' prelude and it looked like it could be droped further and didnt have aslammed appereance, i could still see a gap between the wheel and wheel well.
but im gonna go with it i lliked how it looked and well after seeing what the camber kit did to your car im scared of it.

oh and i wasnt saying they didnt have camber kits for ludes i was just sayign in general, all the cars in these parts are ricer cars..
big spoilers, bodykits, bright ass lgihts! on 20" rims and lowered so far they cant pull into certain gas stations, rest stopps, shoppingg centers..etc.
its so gay..

Cash68 can only hope to improve
FYI, I dropped my 89 accord (similar in weight and suspension design) and it does NOT handle any better. It actually has worse response, though the ride is nice. Think of it this way: Honda engineers spent thousands of dollars in R&D developing what they considered the 'best spring for the street'. They wanted a sporty feel, a comfortable ride, and good response. Do you think Eibach or whoever will be better? I dunno. All I know is that my Eibach Prokit is a bit softer than stock springs, when it comes to 89 accords. Even though it's softer, it also bounces more, with brand new performance struts. I'd venture that the stock springs might be faster around a track..... but I don't take that car to tracks. It's a daily, so I just wanted it to look cooler. :) If you're lowering for performance, you probably want the STIFFEST springs you can find with the most minimal drop.

Tokico blues are "okay" they aren't the best for our cars, bilstien and Koni would be a much better choice.

1funryd, member of other forums is working on getting us a "true" coil over setup from Ksport, stay tuned as this project is almost over and you'll have the option of buying a true setup.

i see what you mean cash68 and yea im only going for performance not looks, i want my lude to stay stock spec as far as looks go.

how much will these coilovers run? price wise? cause id be more than happy to purchase them is they are priced right.
are coil overs just the springs or springs and struts?
would i have to buy koni or bilstein struts also with these project coil overs?

Well, right now the GB is going on at pp.com (prelude power.com)..... they are being sold for 950+shipping. Which is a very good price in my eyes.

A "true" coil over comes with a threaded shock body, springs and top hats. These will allow for bound and rebound adjustability as well as the common height adjustment of 1"-3" drop I believe. The Dampers will offer a 32 bound/rebound adjustability.
