Icon10 Bought myself a 4ws!

Hey Everyone,
Newbie here.. I just bought myself a 1988 Prelude Si 4ws with the b20a5 and 5 speed. It has 220,000 Miles on it but the motor is still very strong. on my way home from purchasing it in fact I got her up to 115, then 120 later that day. (I know very irresponsible) Tranny is in good shape as far as I can tell but the synchros are going out a little, I'm going to replace the fluid with 10w40 when I get the chance.
outside is beat to hell... not much more to say. It'll be a while before the exterior gets finished. Needs all new paint and a lot of body work.
interior is good though. All that is missing is a nice steering wheel, the one on it was cracking and falling apart in my hands so I cut all of the flaky, crumbly plastic rubber off and just wrapped the steel bar with some ugly red duct tape.(this is one of the first things on my list to get)
She came with a nice new alpine deck still in the box just not hooked up. has Kenwood speakers all around. No sub or amp yet but soon to change.
She came on 4 steelies with good tires but also came with 2 full sets of extra rims in ok shape. also came with an extra driver door card in not so good shape and about 5 lbs of silicone vacuum tubing.
I test drove the car with all of this crap in the trunk and still decided I wanted the car so imagine my pleasant surprise when I took out 100lbs or more of crap then drove her!

stock everything else and is missing ABS, Cruise Control, and fog lights.
Other things wrong with the car are the headlights jiggle a little bit, (I think the screws need to be tightened) and its got the "bees in a can" exhaust rattle. The speedometer wiggles, So I think I'm going to lube the cable and re insert it back into its sleeve.
The only things I havent figured out are:
1.) What to do about my door? I haven't looked yet but I think It might just be like a "door open" sensor. when I go right sometimes the door ajar light comes on and my seat belt sign flashes until I take a left or sometimes when I pull on the door. I'm gonna check it out tomorrow.
2.) I have some pretty serious tire squeal while cornering.. I'd say an unnatural amount. Is this very common with 3rd gen 4ws?
thanks for any feedback everyone!

Re: Bought myself a 4ws!

That's a pretty decent Prelude, Did you check for rust? I don't see any in your pictures, which is a major plus. Your wheel is about to touch the fender in the 3rd picture, I'd have that checked.

Welcome to Prelude Zone!

Re: Bought myself a 4ws!

Thanks, yeah I will check that out. The tire looked a little low today. There is some rust on some of the panels but its all surface. None are rusted through. Still didn't get to really check the door thing, Any ideas about the tire squeal?

Re: Bought myself a 4ws!

Tire squeal is not normal for 4ws, just like it's not normal for any car. Do any of the tires look to have uneven tread wear or is one of them more worn than any of the others? The left front tire does look to be in a strange position in that pic. You might want to have the alignment checked. You may have suspension wear or damage that a good shop can identify for you.

The door thing sounds like it might be the door jam switch. Check both of them.

Congrats on your lude.
