Icon5 Auto Transmission Mount

I will (hopefully) be buying an '89 Si AT today, I was told that a transmission mount is on its way out. I am curious as to what the symptoms are at the onset of the problem if anyone has experienced it and the difficulty level of replacing it. (Tools and equipment wont be an issue.)

Re: Auto Transmission Mount

The only pain in the butt is the rear one. All the rest are easy. Just put a jack under the engine and remove. The back one sucks. Might have to remove the bracket that attaches to the trans . I'll be doing that one soon. You pretty much have to remove the intake system along with the filter housing .

Re: Auto Transmission Mount

Luckily there's just a short ram intake on it now, so most of the intake system is already out of the way.

Oh, and I think I found my problem. Someone forgot to put the bolt back in the front engine mount...

Re: Auto Transmission Mount

Matched it up: M12 x 90mm with 1.25 thread pitch works great (although I had to use a 100mm w/ washers). Shifting is more predictable and less harsh now!
