1990 Prelude 2.0SI oil leak

I am looking for help in narrowing down my oil leak issue.

The ISSUE:
I can smell oil burning on the exhaust while driving. There has never been a puddle of oil on the ground from it sitting overnight. About every 1000-1500 miles i have to add about 0.5-1 qt of oil. I have looked under the car and it definalty looks like oil is coming from around the oil filter/oil cooler and landing on the exhaust and burning off. There may also be a little leak from the distributor, i have the oring for that just need to replace it.

What I have DONE:
I have recently replaced the oil cooler oring. The old oring didn't look in bad shape and wasn't brittle at all. I put a little oil on the new oring and installed it torquing the bolt to 22 ft. lbs. (that is what the dealership told me). Does that torque spec sound right? I am still having the issue even after a new oil cooler oring. Should have added a little RTV gasket maker to better seal things off (i didn't think it was a good idea because the excess RTV could sqeeze into who knows where)? Could the oil cooler have warped causing the oil to never fully seal. Again oil only leaks when driving the car.

What could the issue be and how can i solve it? I'll try to get some pictures posted this weekend.

On a positive note, after every 1500 miles i have ~1/5 oil change :-)

That would be my fix. Didn't happen to see any oil leaking from the top of your valve cover gasket , Did you? One person at a car show showed me his valve cover gasket and when he revved it, Air was blowing out the sides of it. He said it got worse when driving. He said his valve stem seals were shot.

Also remember that the exhaust runs under the oil pan so any leaks from it or the rear main seal will be visible the next morning like mine.I changed the oil pan gasket when I replaced the oil pump but didn't change the rear main seal cause then I would've had to remove the tranny.
