Icon5 still not starting

ok. finally got some more time in on the lude. so she needs a timing belt. but before i do that i wanted to do a compression test to see if any valves were damaged from the last timing belt breaking. but when i put the tester in the spark plug hole, i only got about 30 pounds or nothing. i know the b21 prolly isnt the easiest engine to work on, so if anyone knows im messing up somewhere, i would be glad to hear your input. also can i get weather stripping for my sunroof anywhere??? i actually got a shower in my car

Re: still not starting

Why do you need a new timing belt? Did it slip? Is it even timed correctly now (crank to cam timing not ignition timing)? You are leaving out some details.

The sunroof is not designed to be water tight. It's got weatherstripping around it to stop most water, but the sunroof tray is designed to catch the water that gets past the weatherstripping and run out one of four drains built into the tray. Your problem is that the drains are plugged, and there is nowhere else for the water to go but into the interior. It's actually called "in car shower". Here is a common fix for it...

In Car Shower / Leaky Sun Roof

Re: still not starting

Yeah the timing belt actually broke. And idk if whoever was driving it tried to still start and drive it after it broke. If they did it could be bad, but yeah i got like 30 in 1 and 4, 60 in 3 and 30 in 2. But itbwould only hold comoression a couple of times.

Re: still not starting

Yepp that's not good news what-so-ever. Might as well not even do a t-belt job, and start taking the head off

You can't do a compression test if the timing belt is broken/gone. Or did you put one on to do the test? In all likelyhood you bent at least two valves, and probably more. Do as suggested and pull the head so that you can see what you have.

Re: still not starting

yes i believe thats where im headed. but the good news is if i do have bent valves, myu dad will pitch in for a valve job. as for the motor swap, i would like to keep my b21a1 bc its kinda rare, not valueable i know, but no one really has one. and just the fact that its the biggest baddest b series is great, civic owners give you the eye when you put a number after b thats higher than 18 lmaoo. any suggestions on motors you guys have swapped, id love to hear your opinions.
