Okay so I have a slight problem. I want to put a CIA on my 89 Si 4WS, but the stock intake system is so messed up I can't handle it...as any owner of a 3rd gen will know. But I digress... I have all of the tubes and boost bottles (?) taken off and now it is just the filter box. But there is ANOTHER tube coming of the bottom of the box and going next to the firewall along the engine. Can somebody please tell me what this is? Can I just take it out? I feel like it is just another dead end tube taking up space...

Yes, you can remove it if you can get it out of there. It's just another part of the intake. And since you are removing the stock intake "it's just another dead tube taking up space".

I just don't understand what its purpose is. Whatever employee at Honda came up with this design I would love to slap...thanks for the help.

It might also be worth mentioning that it still has the clock door.
