Finally got some pics of my lude.

So I finally have a few pictures of my 89 si with 4ws, the pictures actually make it look way better than it actually does, the paint is just terrible on this poor old girl :( . The 16 inch Rota's wrapped in 205/55s are the best looking thing about the outside, and even those shoes are scuffed up pretty good...

mechanically (aside from my current subframe dilemma which has only cost me 90 bucks so far, just bad financial timing for it to quit.) shes actually very sound.

ive replaced the timing belt and water pump, it leaks a very small amount of oil, no burning of it, has no knocks or ticks outside of usual morning cold start, synchros shift smoothly, shift cables shift fluidly, has new brakes and ball joints, rad hoses, alternator, and a recent (ish, since its been parked for about a month now) tune up. everything wrong was just aesthetic at this point.

only other real issue is an exhaust leak cause it needs a new exhaust manifold gasket. the one on is pretty much desintigrated so when the motor torques at starting from a dead stop, or when i get on it, it opens up a few very small gaps causing the leak.

personally its not a bad trade considering as mentioned before the jeep i traded started literally dropping its rear driveshaft (did it 3 times before the guy just left it in 4wd and let the front tires pull), then after he pawned it off it died a few days after that and STILL wont start to this day.

and i knew that motor needed ALOT of love...new rings, valve guide seals.. lord that thing drank oil... more than what it was worth...
apparently the guy who i got this from found hope in that dying piece of machinery.

i miss my old 6.9 liter diesel... never once broke down, and that thing took a helluva beating... clean too for being 84. 21 mpg doing 65 mph in a 10,000lb curb weight tank.

anyway, ramble over.

Re: Finally got some pics of my lude.

Where's the 4WS badging? Foglights? At least minimal car cancer on the rear quarter panels. If it's a 4WS, I'm sorry about my transgression, its just the stickers on the b-pillar are so hard to delete, I think your car might've been in some serious part swapping. Still, a better pickup than most.

Good luck with the ride!

You're kidding, right? The badges on the b-pillars pry right off. They're held on with foam tape. I've removed a couple sets from junkyard cars. Then just use a little WD-40 to remove any foam tape residue.

Re: Finally got some pics of my lude.

Actually no. It might've been I was still young and inexperienced, but I tried to pry a set off, I swear I only got the "4". The "ws" was attached and I started to bleed, that was a delayed gash bro. Never tried again lol. I've taken badges off before, I hate the 5lb foam tape. Passionately. Dealers use that to brand cars off their lots, free advertising, fock them. Orange glow and armor all rapes the foam too. NOW I KNOW! And knowing is half the battle.lol

Where was I going with this? Yeah random bloodletting for prelude gods... no clean stickers for me. Needed tetnus shot too.

its got the 4ws badged steering wheel, but no b-pillar, or even the back right badge just says 2.0si.

maybe it was swapped, im doubtful though cause it seems like a complete PITA cause theres more to do swapping that over than just my subframe removal/replacement, which is already pissing me off enough already.

as far as fogs, god i wish i had them, but my front bumpers cracked so fogs are one less thing to deal with when i got to replace that.

my cars got receipts back to 03', original owner kept them, then a tweeker got ahold of it, nuff said...

The fog lights are help on with one bolt. It's not something to worry about, just saying.

The Dalles, just on the OR/WA border along the columbia river. Some refer to this place as the 7th circle of hell cause of all the tweekers, poor employment rate, and overall sh**ty people who only think of themselves.

Also home to the worst drivers in the US...

Actually, the 4ws swap is pretty common. I've done one myself in fact. The worst part of that job for me was getting the inner lower control arm bolts out on the donor car. I had to cut the bolts on both sides of the bushings because they were seized to the inner sleeves of the control arm bushings. what a pita to get those off.

I'm surprised to hear that you don't have fogs, but it's possible a previous owner removed them. From my research, all 4ws 3rd gens came with fog lights from the factory.

Another easy way to tell if it originally came with 4ws (there are several others) is does it have power locks? All 4ws 3rd gens also came with power locks. At least in the US.
