Hello Everyone,

I have gone to so many websites and I can't find any manufacturer that produces a quality header for my prelude. Does anyone have a stainless steel header either a 4-2-1 or 4-1 header from a decent company? I have called the following so far and there distributors were wrong:

1) Yonaka header - Andy's Autosport ( customer service is clueless)
2) PaceSetter - (Mixed reviews plus no stainless steel)
3) Chikara - Bad reviews that there is a defect with this header

I appreciate anyone that can help me in this situation.

Did you check ebay? OBX makes a couple different headers for us. They are mainly for the b20a5, but will bolt up with no problem. Then you will just need to plug the o2 sensor bungs in the header and weld in a bung in the downpipe for your b21a1...

OBX Tri-Y Exhaust Headers 88-91 Honda Prelude 2.0L Si | eBay

OBX Tri-Y Racing Header 90-91 Honda Prelude 2.0L Si 3pc | eBay

This is the one I have...
OBX Racing Exhaust Header 90-91 Honda Prelude 2.0L Si | eBay

OBX Racing Exhaust Headers 90-91 Honda Prelude 2.0L Si | eBay

You get the idea.

I had neuspeeds N2, discontinued. Your set bet is the OBX, or just go factory. Custom is gonna come out to 500-700, and it can be any setup you want.

OBX Headers will not work for the 2.1 L Si Lude per the manufacturer. I spoke to them through ebay and said that it will not fit. I don't know what the difference is with the 2.0 versus 2.1 lude in relation with the header bolt on design but maybe that is why it won't work.

They are wrong. Many people are using a b20a5 header on their b21a1. It will bolt to the head just fine, and the other end meets the cat. The exhaust ports and studs line up perfectly. Here are the differences and how you can make it work for you:

EGR bung is slightly different between the two. You can use an EGR tube from a b20a5 to compensate for this difference.

O2 sensors are in the header portion instead of the downpipe. You can simply plug the two bungs in the header and weld an o2 bung in the downpipe in the stock position to use it with your b21a1.

If you take these two steps, you will have no problems fitting it to your b21a1.

EGR tube from a b20a5

Where can I get one of these?? I placed the OBX header on and the bolt won't thread into the EGR hole there.

Re: HEADERS, 1991 2.1L Si ALB

Junkyards. You can use one from any 88/89 Prelude 2.0Si. And I'm pretty sure one from a 90/91 2.0Si will work too since they also have a b20a5. The only one that won't work (excluding the carbie models of course) would be from a 90/91 Si with the b21a1, which is what you have.

Re: HEADERS, 1991 2.1L Si ALB

I am looking into just removing the EGR valve since there is no emission in Illinois for a car 1995 and below. Does anyone know where I can buy a plate block for the EGR??

I would just make one if it's me. I don't know of any that are made for our cars. Maybe someone else can post up if they know of any.

What did you use to block off the EGR PIPE?

Re: HEADERS, 1991 2.1L Si ALB

I think you misunderstood me. I didn't remove my EGR, but if I was going to I would make my own block off plate. As far as the EGR bung goes, one way would be to cut the tubing and weld the end closed. Or take it to a muffler shop and see if they will weld a plate over the bung. Just remember that you probably won't pass emissions if you need to do that where you live.
