my heater vents blow VERY HOT air

hi my heater vents inside the car blow air that ranges from 120-180 F. thats the hottest my thermometer has gotten so far, but a couple days ago my vents were blowing air of unknown temp that felt like an oven i put my hand up to the vent and pulled it away just as quick. i was in fifth gear doing 65mph. i have a 88 si 5 speed btw

What's wrong with your rad? Have you flushed it yet?

It's a problem now but you'll love it in winter! Lol

Re: my heater vents blow VERY HOT air

lol yea, it sounds like you have an overheating problem and your masking it by turning the heat on, change yo thermostat, flush yo radiator, and if you put that stop leak crap in your radiator instead of buying a new one because there was a leak....ima smack you

Re: my heater vents blow VERY HOT air

my buddy put that stop leak crap in cuz a hose was leaking back when he owned it, i dont have a thermostat it did over heat and my t-stat dont make a difference in how fast it heats up anyways so i pulled it to help, its brand new and my coolant gauge dont work and how do i flush it again its been 5 years since ive done that

Re: my heater vents blow VERY HOT air

i had a t-stat in it and it never passed 170 at the filler neck for the radiator it actually runs better without it
