my reverse lights wont work

hi, i have a 91 prelude 2.0 si, my reverse lights wont wrk, i changed the bulbs and still nothing...also i realized i changed the oil in the car, i have about 235000 rite now, i put 20w50 synthetic..but the oil is madd black, people been tellin me not to do a engine flush cuz it will leave gaps in the engine and it will not work rite or even not run...please help...

****if u know a good flush to use it would be helpful....

did you check the fuse? there might be a short in the wiring if the fuse isn't bad. check the connector on the harness for good contact. break out the old volt meter and check for continuity.

Check my sig for the 3rd gen manual. Fuse box, diagrams & diagnosing is there...

Black oil, that's most likely blow by causing that.
Engine flush like seafoam, engine restore, mystery oil can either do good or do bad to your motor, depending on what's the deal with your motor, lol...

My right reverse light keeps blowing, about once a month. Water does not appear to be able to get into the housing. (But I'm not 100% sure that it isn't... it's an '88, after all.)

Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas as to what might be causing this? (Other than more power going to the bulb than should be... I'm looking for possible external causes.)
