Feedback on Exhaust Plan

Sooo I'm not going to do a search because it will be hopeless.

I'm thinking the OBX header from ebay, misc things in the middle. I wanna keep my cat, and I'm wondering if finding the muffler from an 8th gen Civic SI would be worth tracking down and welding up.

Would I be able to have a shop weld up bungs for the o2 sensors for the header so I don't throw a code?

Would this setup interfere with my car's ability to pass smog?

Re: Feedback on Exhaust Plan

I know California has intense emission/Smog laws to pass. With that said, everything you mentioned sounds right enough to pass.

Some sort of header/OBX(that is stamped okay for Cali).
Your b20a5 that needs two o2 sensors - is that OBX correct for the b20a5?
Get a CatCo. catalytic converter.
And that 8th gen Civic Si muffler is sporty enough...

do it up!

OBX Tri-Y Exhaust Headers 88-91 Honda Prelude 2.0L Si | eBay

It says it deletes the O2 sensors, I was thinking if I welded on bungs or had a shop do it I would be able to run the sensors with no issues. I can't find another oem header or aftermarket on ebay.

My stock cat isn't completely fried it wouldn't hurt to have a new one though, so a cat-co would work? I will bet theres a CA version haha

Sporty? haha It will fit my needs and tastes if I can make this work out, my logic behind the idea is the muffler looks good, they are OEM parts for current CA cars, and they aren't ridiculously loud.

Hedman / chikara header is the only was to go. Cali is c.a.r.b. Country. Don't play. Or... eBay "prelude neuspeed" and get some Vintage parts. Monza is the easier find, but no real punch. Magnaflow makes the oem cat California won't fail. The exhaust? Get the muffler from eBay "5zeigen style" or "titanium muffler" both look good on red preludes

Re: Feedback on Exhaust Plan

Just looked up the obx header: it has three ports "bungs", might cover what you need, but pacesetter "monza" are also there on eBay. Avoid the "tri-y exhaust. That's off road only.

Here's the right one

You better email that seller and make sure he/she is selling you that exact header, we have run into members buying the same header, and the years were different.

They still fit, but the EGR between the 88-89 and 90-91 are welded at different lengths, on top of not having the two O2 bungs on the top half of the header.
