Icon10 Possible H22 swap

First off let me say thanks to everyone who put up great threads on H22 swaps. I have read a lot of great post and great write ups. As some of you may know my baby is down for a while. It takes it twenty to thirty seconds to start with me cracking on the ignition, then once she gets started it revs to like 2000 RPMís for like 1 to 3 minutes then starts revving between 2000 and 1500 RPMís and putting out white smoke. And while all that is going on under the valve cover it sounds like someoneís using my valves to tap out Morse Code.
So of all the write ups and threads Iíve researched from here, Prelude Power, Prelude 3g, Prelude Online, and so forth are geared towards converting form auto to stick or dropping in an already stick 3rd gen. I recently found and H22A from a 94 lude at a pick and pull salvage yard for 300 bucks. What are the major differences between the two engines? As far as fit wise, Iím thinking that it will fit with little to no problem once I get all the proper equipment like harness and mounts. Also should I change out the transmission since mine is sitting at around 200 thousand and as of yet no problems. Will the H22 fit on my tranny? Thanks ahead of time for all the replies.

You didn't really specify what year car you drive but does say you were on Prelude 3g. If you're driving a 3rd gen then I'm pretty sure you will have to swap the tranny since it's a b-series and not an h or f.

Sorry its a 90 2.1 Si that's what I was thinking also, from everything I've read and asked it seems as if everything should line up and bolt on. After the mounts and harness are changed.

Please point me to the thread that tells you that the H tranny will line up, and I will go there and post up that, his or her information is a no go at this station.

I think I know who you are talking about, but he does extreme moddifying and he never got that to work. It was just an experiment plus he does not have an H swap himself.

So do not take his word for it, because it was not finished and he stated it needed way more work. Pluse he was trying to use the stock mounts to work which he modified to sort of sit the motor in the chassis.

Sorry about that it was late like two in the morning when I wrote that. What I was meaning is that once I drop the old tranny and motor and put in the new one they both should bolt right in to the frame were the old one went. Not the H seris motor bolting into a B series tranny. Would be nice though.
