3rd gen interchangeable parts?

Ok, so I know when I first joined this site I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere a thread on interchangeable parts for the 3rd gen's but I've looked absolutely everywhere and tried the search function and can't find it again, maybe it was a figment of my imagination or I was drinking too much lol

I'd just like to know what parts on the 3rd gen's are interchangeable with other generations of Preludes or other Hondas/Acuras? I'm especially interested in suspension and brake components. Any help would be super!

I know the valve cover off of the b20 in the crv's fit on our engines, not sure if anything else on that motor does though.

be careful with this. I saw some bad things in a thread on PP from someone using that valve cover from the crv

not much, if any at all..

3rd gens share nothing with any other Honda's because the platform is independent. It's not like the Civic/Integra platform or the Accord/Prelude(4th & 5th gen Preludes) platform.

Yes.

He did it to be different & it leaked. It looked God-awful ugly too.

Re: 3rd gen interchangeable parts?

OOPS! Looks like someone wants to do "crafty" Civic/ Integra work... someone also lied to you and said, "duh" all Honda is Interchangeable Yo! Chex out my Type AAARRRR!"

Sorry. Not even the alternator. You need to get a different rib belt or pull off the pulley from a third gen. Both PITA to DIY. I know, I still have my accord 90amp from my 3rd gen.

Re: 3rd gen interchangeable parts?

Truly ask me if I care if I'm right. I don't have to search for my prelude info. The least of his problems are an alternator.

What he is asking for nothing cannot be used. If he wants to use the h23 rods, b16 pistons, the pins for the pistons, he's gold. Fail over 6 year old info, that worked when I did it? Whatevs. Unless you bought your 3rd gen to just swap the alternator.

Re: 3rd gen interchangeable parts?

Sweet! I'm glad we on the same page. Had the 94 alternator? I don't even remember, I'm old I'll be forgeting you in 10 minutes! Unfortunately we threadjacked this right here. My bad. Smug? Guilty.

For the OP nsx parts fit just fine on the prelude with some thinking involved. Your WIP wil be one of a kind!

Re: 3rd gen interchangeable parts?

l^^^lol ya we did. Anyways, the 93 swaps without the pully btu the 94 gives you 20 more amps but the pully and belt need to be replaced, however a good belt change is never a bad idea
