Re: 90 prelude clutch keeps going out

Sounds like your clutch is on it's last leg. When you say it keeps going out, Does that mean it's slipping or you can't get in gear when pressing down on the pedal?

Re: 90 prelude clutch keeps going out

Have you checked your fluid levels for a proper bleed? You might have bubbles in the system. It is a 2 man job, and a PITA to get fixed after it's happened. Takes about 30 minutes to get all the air out (worst case scenario)

1. hydraulic fluid
2. friend that listens well and knows normal clutch pedal heights
3. wrench set to release bleeder valve
4.clean coffee can or pickle jar

1. chock wheels / e-brake
2. fill up the clutch reservoir with fluid
3. loosen the valve nut (located to the driver side of the engine bay, If my memory still works, just in front of the header)
4. have friend press all the way down on the clutch to push air out of system. you lock the nut when he has pedal pressed down to the floor.
5. catch any fluid coming out with can / jar. (repeat steps until the clutch returns to normal height after friend lets go
6. refill the cylinder with the excess fluid in can. Adjust the pedal to your desired height
