Just bought a 91 Prelude Si 2.1!..

I just bought my car and I love it. Its a 91 Prelude Si 2.1. Im new to Hondas and Im new to this forum. First I'd like to know what some of you should think I should do with it. What are good mods and what are bad mods? Should I preform a swap? What? Im not a fan of body kits so my lude will never see one!.. Neway let me know what you all think!..

Joe Booty is on a distinguished road
Good mods:
94-94 accord lip kit all around
nice clean drop
nice wheels to match
painted valve cover
tint
exhaust
etc. list goes on lol

Bad Mods:
Most body kits
18's+
fart can/coffee can
custom made altezzas (never done yet, dont worry lol)
painted dash
overly decorated engine bay
flashy banners
extra driving lights
aka: rice

for engine swap you could do a h22 swap :D

Yup, take that B21 and chuck it. Get yourself a B20A? and have whatever wet dreams you can think of.

Or you can do as I did and go the H22/F22/H23 route.!!!

It's not all that bad, lol...

I do agree with team though, try to find a b20a replacement if you want to start to build anything meaningful without further headaches, but do indeed enjoy the motor you have before making any passive judgements.

Well, lots!

...

Firstly, it has a lot lower miles than your current motor.
-It doesn't have FRM cylinder sleeves, thus you can turbo it without resleeving(if you please).
-It bolts in, reusing all manifolds and bolts onto your d2a4 tranny.
-Has slightly more HP and slightly less torque.
-Better compression

For $800ish shipped, it has a lot of upside compared to our motors.

See, though i'm a b21a1 guy. I'll stick with it even though i burn a lot of oil. I like having the rarity and taking care of it. Soon, it will retire in place of it's younger brother, Mr. H motor

Go for the Euro R H23A motor out of the JDM Spec Accords here's the link, have some other good engines you might want to think about swapping into your lude. I would give you the site, but since I haven't made 15 posts yet I can't leave the URL. After I hit 15 posts I'll send you the URL

I thought the bigger b21a1 had more power. I'm confused.

nah the B21A1 is rated at 140hp and 135tq, but the JDM B20A is rated at 160hp and 140tq, but theres also sites that say the B20A only has 130tq

those are the blue-top DOHC VTEC's right??
those are insannnelyyyyy rare (over here at least) and usually more expensive than H22's.

plus any H series in a 3rd gen is gonna need custom motor mounts and axles and ish

No no, more confusion...

B21a1 = 140hp 135tq
JDM B20a(for 3g Preludes) 145hp 127tq
B20a5 = 135hp 127tq

That b20a with the 160hp and 140tq is for the 3rd gen Accord.

There is no H23 Euro R... it's an H22. The H23 came on the SIR accord wagon.

The JDM B20A for a 3rd gen came with 142hp and 135tq

Re: Just bought a 91 Prelude Si 2.1!..

^ the JDM b20a with the 160 hp does not fit. That works with 2nd gen Preludes/3rd gen Accords. If you took a look at the resource guide(located in my sig), this information is there.
