Clutch

Well Ive had my 88 Si 4ws JDM b20a For about a month now and no problems. The guy I bought it from mentioned that the clutch could possibly need to be bled. Never the less I drove it ignoring the sed issue because it seemed fine, no slipping or any other clutch related problems.

Today however, After cleaning the hose ends for the sun roof and tightening the power steering belt. I was due to take my Girlfriend home, so as Im pulling out of the drive way.

Clutch
1st gear
Gas/No clutch
Take off......

Then what seems like a breaking noise.

Clutch wont engage at all. I can put it in gear and full release the clutch and no stalling or movement at all.

0, Nada, Nilch

So here is where my problem is.....

What is the problem??? I was thinking pressure plate? or maybe clutch pump? But to be honest I really have no clue what it could be. I do know however that I will more than likely, if it is anything clutch related, be purchasing a new clutch kit and having that installed.

Inputs?

And/or

Advice on a clutch kit for and 88 JDM b20a?

Please dont flam me for not searching as Ive just gotten home from a long day of nothingness topped off with my car breaking down... Research will be done trust me.

Help???

Re: Clutch

Check your axles, one of them may have popped out. It could be a catastrophic clutch failure, but an axle problem is a lot easier to diagnose and fix. If the axles are both good, and inserted correctly, then you can move on to checking for other causes. Does the clutch pedal feel "normal"?

Re: Clutch

Get your girlfriend to pump the clutch and see if the slave cylinder is pushing on anything first. Really can't say much unless I know how old the clutch is. Still might have to bleed it or maybe a bad or old clutch. Really don't know the history of it but the guy who told you to bleed it knows the history.

That would be great if it was the axel. And come to think of it. When I had it towed. I let it roll down into my drive way and when I turned the wheel it made a popping sound. ???
