Car waiting on jackstands = get things done

So this is the current status of my car.

I just got back from college on Thursday, and I come back to my car in need of a nice washing. I can't even drive it (legally). It needs an inspection, but my power steering hose is busted. Me and my dad took out the oem one and took us about 3 and a half hours. Anyway, while we wait until we get a new one that is how she will stay for the next week or so.

So while I wait I'll be doing small mods to the car making her look prettier and prettier everyday.

Here is what I did so far:

1) I grinded down the heat shield down to the bare metal.
2) Changed my short ram to cai
3) Painted the headlight housings red (making her stand out)
4) From the first picture => In process of dressing up the rust on the quarters
5) Will be ordering some new radiator hoses
6) New H4 headlights from rimiinc from eBay should be in next week

I think that's all I've done.

Just an update. Plus, I know all of you love pictures

Thanks man! The heat shield didn't really take too long, maybe 45 minutes.

East coast rust does suck. I'm not trying to stop it though. I'm just trying to make it less noticeable.

Re: Car waiting on jackstands = get things done

It grew on me a little bit just because I've never seen it done...
Originally, I was going to just repaint them black because there was massive over spray, but I didn't have any black spray paint laying around. It was too late to go pick up some so I just did the red to clean it up.

Re: Car waiting on jackstands = get things done

Got my headlights in today. I installed them already. I'll have pictures up later.

I'll also be putting in my new radiator hoses today.

And I ordered my new front struts yesterday. Should be here by the end of the week.

Re: Car waiting on jackstands = get things done

The other day:

I took the front seats out and clean the interior

Nice and clean!

Just chillen in the back seat

Ok so today I:

Put in my new H4 headlights

And then I started to replace the radiator hoses

It's been raining since last Saturday. Getting a bit tired of it. Just let me work on my car in peace!

Make sure to properly aim those headlights when you get a chance.

Nice work on the interior, super clean

Re: Car waiting on jackstands = get things done

Thanks man. I will be sure to do so.

The pictures really hide the imperfections though. On the driver side right under where the seat would go is what I think is spilt soda or something. That came with the car. Sometime this summer I'm getting a carpet cleaner. haha. Should been the cleanest oem interior on here.

My heat shield is already starting to rust! Fakking east coast!

Re: Car waiting on jackstands = get things done

UPDATE: I finally got my new struts on the car. It's a good thing I decided to replace them. My front pass. strut was shot! I was able to push it down with my pinky with very little force, and it didn't even retract on its own!

I'm not doing anything crazy right now. For now, I'm just spraying some rust preventative and "stopper" stuff on it, sanding it down, and then painting it. There are rust holes that need to be filled...yadda yadda, but I really don't feel like tackling that right now. My brother did body work on his old truck so he said that he would help too.

I'm in the process of putting my car back together... I still didn't get my power steering hose yet, but I'm getting serious withdraw. I'm going for inspection tomorrow. Hope for the best.

Re: Car waiting on jackstands = get things done

I got my car back on the road today, passed inspection, no problems. Unfortunately, my paint from automotivetouchup.com didn't come in on time for the Formula H meet tomorrow, so my car will look like s***.

Oh well. It's on the road and running well. I'm happy!

Thanks man. It's one of those things where you just don't feeling like doing it, but once you do it, it's like "why did I put this off?"

It really dresses up an engine bay
