Need some build input

Ive decided to stick to the B20 and not convert to h22. I want to reuild it and build it up.

Im still new and not sure exactly which parts and intechangable with what.

A friend suggested h23 rods and b21 pistons. Anyone else have any input?

I wouldn't drop too much money in an NA buildup. It's been a waste of money for a lot of people. There are a few different options if you want to go the bolt on route, but I think money would be better spent keeping it running good and/or fixing any cosmetic damage.

Here is a good read for an NA build.

Re: Need some build input

I understand a lot of people are concerned with hp and what not. Im not looking for a race car or anything along those lines. I want to restore the b20a5 and possibly add a couple hp to it. The incredible gas mileage and my love for the car has made me realize I would much rather have it as a daily. I want to keep it mostly original, maybe in the future I will do something drastic with it. But Im just exploring the options.

B20A7 will become famous soon enough
Re: Need some build input

I know exactly what you mean. I've been doing alot of research on the B20a motors and unfortunately the N/A route is very expensive. I'm still trying to find something inexpensive that would benefit these motors. I'm in SA and we never got the B20a5 or B21 here all we had in the 90-91 was the a7, this honda "specialist" over here, said the a5 and a7 might react differently to N/A mods because of the difference in compression ratios (B20A5; 9.0:1 and B20A7; 10.5:1). I'm very skeptical about that, but just in case it actually works I'll let you know. I tried a denso fuel pump from a turbo charged civic and i could feel a slight difference, it also made a slight change in the intake sound. My buddy claims to have a H22 fuel rail on his 3g, i'm not sure if he does, but he out runs me by quite a distance. When the "specialist" gets back to me i'll be sure to post his findings.
