Power Steering hose removal

Hey guys. I could really use your help right now

I'm in the middle of taking out my power steering hose to replace it because I need it for the inspection.

I cannot see how to remove the end of the hose behind the engine. I see where the sensor meets the hose but that is the extent of my visibility.

In other words, how do you remove the end of the power steering hose that runs behind the engine down my the steering block.

Thanks guys

Re: Power Steering hose removal

Three and a half hours later, we got it out. Got it out in one piece!
I had to feed it from the top and out of the bottom. What a pain in the arse!

Re: Power Steering hose removal

I replaced mine with a locally manufactured hose and not Honda. I never hooked up the sensor and it runs great. No codes so don't know why you took it off.

I just took the sensor off because I couldn't remove it from the hose when it was in the car. I was actually wondering if you needed the sensor or not. Thanks

Re: Power Steering hose removal

All you gotta do is remove the hose and take it to a shop that makes hydraulic hoses. Usually any heavy equipment place will steer you in the right place. You must keep the end pieces where it joins the steering rack and where it hooks up to the pump. I'm sure you know that the rack piece is curved. .yOU'LL NEED IT. Just let them add a middle piece really long so you can run it pretty much the same way.

Re: Power Steering hose removal

That is why all 3rd genners need to get my custom powersteering reroute line.

Much easier to deal with and will outlast the car more than likely with no more leaking powersteering hose over the exhaust system.

FS: 3rd gen Prelude - Powersteering Reroute lines - Honda Prelude Forum : Honda Prelude Forums

Just email me for the details.
