Re: automatic vtec

Where did you get that section of your post? It's worded strangely. It looks like it was translated to English from Japanese. That would make more sense because Japan got their model years one year before the US did, and it says it was unveiled in 1991, which was the first year for the 4th gen in Japan. And judging by the specs it's quoting, it's a 4th gen Prelude, not 3rd gen. The h22 was available in the 4th gen Prelude, so an automatic would certainly have been an option.

Re: automatic vtec

swap H22A with A/T transmission I got it in my 4th gen lude and man it is nice to drive around with it.

Most of the ppl will say do manual transmission swap but unless you got some real cash then don't do it.
although it more fun and joy driving in a manual but I will always love and modify my Auto H22a :D

Re: automatic vtec

I love how all the 4th gen guys are experts on this 3rd gen swap. I haven't done this swap, but I have put in some time researching it because I actually do have a 3rd gen. Please provide something to back up what you are saying about being able to make this work. It's not really helpful to post a single sentence about what he can do to.

I sent you a pm dodger.

Re: automatic vtec

Sigh... Please if you do not know what you are talking about, then just dont post up bad and incorrect information.

The amount of work to get the H22 auto tranny is not worth it at all, the wiring itself is going to be a nightmare, so just don't even try, you will hate yourself especially if you are going to cut into the frame.

There is no support for the auto tranny anyways and I tried to get it made for my lude, but after all my research and trying to get AZ Race to make it just for me, I decided just to leave it alone.

I even tried to pull the entire harness from a 4th gen so most of it would be plug and play, because when dealing with autos, you need all the correct harnesses and the TCU and sensors to match.

I am not saying it cant be done, but I am saying you will want to shoot yourself before you even get half way done.

It will be easier to swap to a 5 speed and while doing the H22/23 swap. So just go that route.

Other than that, its not worth the time and effort to look into the auto H22 swap.

Trust me, I was the only who wanted to do this while everyone else kept tellling me to just swap to 5 speed.

They were right.
