Aftermarket Headers= o2 sensor delete?

I have been looking at aftermarket headers for my prelude and i don't see where i would put my o2 sensors at. Does that mean if i get a aftermarket header then i won't have o2 sensors and my car will run very rich?

Re: Aftermarket Headers= o2 sensor delete?

You need the o2 sensors. The car won't run right without them so don't delete. It's pretty simple for a muffler shop to weld the o2 bungs in for you.

The header you are looking at may be for a 90/91 Si (b21a1) which has a single o2 sensor in the downpipe and none in the header section. The egr pipe is also a little different, and your stock pipe won't connect into it right. You'd need a b21 egr tube.

The other possibility is that it's meant for off road use only, and has no provisions for o2 sensors.

Re: Aftermarket Headers= o2 sensor delete?

The one im looking at is the OBX for the B20A5 engine which is the one i have. It is for the 90-91 B20A5 so im sure it should bolt into mine since its the same engine. The reason why im going to buy headers is because my stock header stripped a bolt that connects the manifold to the down pipe.

Re: Aftermarket Headers= o2 sensor delete?

Is the bolt that stripped able to be cut off where you can just put a straight bolt through it after it's drilled through? Only applies to the far left and right. You might get away without just one stud not tightening as long as you use two new round crush gaskets and tighten them good.

Re: Aftermarket Headers= o2 sensor delete?

Possibly, is the left bolt if your looking at the motor from the front. Where can I get the gasket at that hoes between the header and the downpipe?
