they will fit. the rear of the 88-89 and 90-91 are the same just different color scemes. ever think of buying some transparent candy apple red model paint and painting the yellow blinkers to match the stop lights? spray them with a clear coat and you got an all red rear.

there is a kit out there that you can get. it includes a new trunk lid, and new back panel behind the tailights. it requires some cutting and welding. but it is out there if you want it. if you want more specs on it.. just let me know and i will get you a link.

Not true. Try it... The holes wont line up and there will be a gap inbetween the trunk lid and lights. That is if you drill different holes.

You need the 90-91 taillight panel....... the entire thing!@!!! It's more of a pain in the ass to swap the tail lights then it's worth. 88-89's look really good. Especially with JDM sidemarkers.

You will need rear light panel, rear lights, center piece, bumper and wing to properly do the conversion. Not worth it.

ya, i just got here too

about the swap

it can be done without the whole rear piece
drilling and banging has to be done, but it CAN line up

what is needed 100% is the trunk lid, and all 3 lights
the rear bumper SHOULD also be switched, unless u can find a way to fix the 1/2"ish gap that it leaves

NO, they will not fit. The design between the 88-89 and 90-91 are different. The taillights on the 88-89 are taller than the 90-91. Also, the mounting on the back metal framing is different between the 88-89 and 90-91. If you want to put 90-91 taillights on your 88-89, then you need to find a 90-91 donor not wrecked in the rear, and drill the welds out so you can take off the sheetmetal to transplant. You also need the trunk and bumper, because they are different, also. Here's a link for you, if you care to read. http://www.prelude3.com/ Go to the Exterior section and click on Taillight conversion. It's all explained there.
