h22 swap if anyone wants to know

ok i kow this will come up so here it is. the h22 motor does fit into the 3gen prelude. it will require custom mounts the place racing did make before they "bought the farm". these mounts and ones like it have been floating around ebay and some companies will make them for you but its up to you to ask. you will need the tranny that goes with the motor and the ecu as well.custom driveshafts will need to be made/ ordered as well cause of the difference in the tranny location. since the h22 is heavier than the b20/b21 stronger/stiffer front shocks are needed as well. all in all this sawp will cost around 10 grand and thats just getting the motor in the car and not doing any aftermarket mods to it. if you want a sweet 3gen and have some funds lying around then go for it but it is a lot of work. the same performance is achievebale by boosting the b20/b21 and 300-350whp is possible with the right setup and tuning for the same price of just getting the h22 swap started. this swap is the only feasable one for the 3gen. hope this helps anyone and good luck with what you plan to do.

Im in the process of intalling an H22 in my 3rd gen. The front and rear H22 mounts will fit just need to redrill to bolt em in. All you would need is the driverside mount and tranny mount.

I'm going to do my swap for 3500 or under.... (not including the extra NA goodies I plan on getting like ITB's if there is clearance)

i've done an H23A in my first 3rd gen. this was about 6 years ago. using PR mounts. the PR rear mount is useless. PR axles, and 4th gen ECU. i did not however use a 4th gen shifter assemble and cables so my shift pattern was backwards. all i can say is this mutha was torqy as hell. pulled like a rocket on the freeway. i never got to see how well it accells with slicks on though. i ended up sell the car to my younger bro. that bastard he can talk anyone into anything.

i got the mounts back but sold them to a friend. i have no idea what he did with them considering he doesn't have a 3rd gen lude. he had a '94 accord. axles and ecu went with the motor. hey team123 have you heard any progress on the mounts from Lativa that J-willie and some other PP have ordered?

.........and you're telling us something we don't already know? Well, maybe most of you didn't know that, but I've known it for a long time. Do you know how long it's been common knowledge that an H22 will fit into a 3G? Quite a long while, now.
