3GP coldair intake search

well i dont know if this should of been in the 3GP section or not so i thought id just throw it up on here....anyways iam looking at making a true cold air intake for my lude and well they really dont make one....so id like to just get an ebay special to throw on my car...and i cant find them anywhere....can i cross breed some how and make something else work off another year/car?? the only reason i dont wanna spend to much money on it is cus i MIGHT look into doing a H22 swap into it later in life....more or less iam looking for tubing..catching my drift?? lol

There is a place that sells custom, one piece CAI.
http://store.lsdmotorsports.com/merc...ore_Code=LSD01

You cannot go wrong with an LSD intake...they've shown massive love to 3g's, whereas no one else does

yah, so you can also buy an ebay Integra intake, 94-01 rs/ls/gs model and cut about 7 inches or so...
Like mine:

I changed the ebay filter for a K&N filter. a must do. This filter sits underneath the batterry tray, snugg.

i noticed ya moved my thread mister!!! lol iam just testing the mods around here....ya thats what i was doing i swear ...

anyways back on topic...now i do like the integra setup ya got there, but one question....did you end up cutting into the inner fender and putting the filter under the battery where the stock radiator coolant tank is??? or is the filter under the hood near the header and down pipe etc etc?? do you have a pic or so, so i can actually visually see what iam looking at doing... and thanks for the help

^^Uhh

Yeah so Uncle.
I dont have pics, but trust me on this.
It's simple.

Get the ebay intake, remove battery and fit the intake from the throttle.
Now you're gonna notice that the lower piping(as there are two) is too long(the lower half where the filter connects to).
From there, you will proceed to cut about 6-7 inches, depending on how you want it.

Sorry, it's hard to visualize this, but for an ebay intake that will cost you less than $40. shipped, there should not be any worries.

I say, get teh LSD intake.

to add to this make sure you get a good filter. the one that comes with the ebay intake is usually a piece of ****

That filter aint that bad actually.
I used it for the entire summer until i had a power steering leak...which of course, ruined the filter.

...yes Uncle, get that ebay intake.
BAH...$40 bucks well spent IMO.

or...contact LSD and get theirs. y8.

Chill out with that `Uncle.

That front mount, "AIR FILTER" will surely suck up pebbles, insects, dust, water, used condoms...anything that flies into that filter will be combusted in your motor
or... better said, "KILL YO MOTO."

...you need to get the 94-01 rs/ls/gs model cold air intakes, not the GSR as the throttle body is different in GSR's. y8.

well after much debate ive decided to just keep an eye out for a simple intake...something i can change out and put the stock set up back in....thus the reason is so when i go autox this up coming season i dont hafta worry bout being bumped up in class.... its gonna appear to be stock and remain stock so there for i can just kick some arse in the lower bracket....but i will keep all the advice that yall told me so when the time comes ill go for it

ok well ive decided on what iam gonna test out.....

i found a intercooler from a Porche lying around...so what i plan on doin is make my intake go thru it, one would think it would cool air as it passes thru, its a heavier duty setup, so no need for messing up anything... that and its water proof, if anyone has seen or heard this done any tips???

That sounds just as stupid as those front mount intakes, which is basically exactly what you described what you are going to make.

Don't bother messing around with that, either get an LSD intake or a 94-01 Integra CAI. Done.

That's still way more work than it's worth. Do what Danny said and youre set.

i know that an accord short ram intake will work with no mods you just have to buy a smaller air filter.

Re: 3GP coldair intake search

Hey I'm new to the site and the world of Honda. Just picked up a very clean 89 Si. The previous owner replaced the OE induction and air box with a Autzone Spectre air filter which aims down in the spot where the OE air box was located next to the firewall. I have plans on replacing it down the road but for now is this location okay?
Thanks

haha it appears most of the 3rd gen threads are old, but they will be revived. This Si that I bought is super clean and literally untouched and ready for some classy mods.
