84 Prelude Idl/ignition problem...

So This is my daughters car. She was driving along and the card just died... It turned over just great but no start. I had the car towed to my house where i started some troubleshooting. I checked to make sure it was getting fuel which it was and then checked for spark. NO SPARK... I got out the Chilton manual and started to diagnose the problem. I checked the resistance/continuitiy on the ignitor module and determined that it was bad. I purchased a new module ($120 ) and installed it. While i was at it i replaced the cap and rotor also. now the car has spark and will start however it will not idle and it is running very rough... If i keep my foot on the throttle it will run rough but as soon as i take my foot off it dies right away. I checked to verify that the plug wires are in the correct configuration and that everything is connected tight... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I dont know if the timing got off somehow or what.

When was the last timing belt done?

That's not your issue here. It sounds like intermitant fire like maybe the wires n plugs deserve a look as well.

Pretty much got flamed for driving like a jackass and was told to slow down. And I'll be damned, slowing down fixed it.

I'm thinking rotor isn't aligned right. Timing light could help out here, but carburated hondas are a mystery to me. Could also be the carburator or vacuum pressure. Might as well go to a honda motorcycle forum, seeing your prelude is closer related.
