Emissions

I have an 87 prelude Si. The engine is tired. It is border line to pass emissions. What spark plug would you recommend? Do they all burn the same? Does it matter what kind of conductor it has? Does it make any difference widening or shortening the gap for a tired engine? Tired in this case means compression that is below the minimum required.

Re: Emissions

What do you mean by minimum required? A wider gap will burn hotter, but that may only aggrevate your issue.
Also backing off on fuel may help with the unburned fuel, but that too may aggrevate your low compression issue.
Maybe try a thicker motor oil. And/or some zep like motor honey or stp oil treatment.
I put that stuff in my crank case about a week before an oil change as it coats the innerds with zinc but doesn't allow much to get past the valves and end up clogging the cat convertor.
