Well it might just mean that its an A series engine. It's just as if it were a D/F/H/B/K series engine.

The best single cam our cars came with was the A20 if I'm not mistaken. They came with B20 dual cams.

Unfortunately, the US didn't get any of the B20A 2nd gen Preludes. Those were only overseas. But yes, the A20 is the highest hp engine of the single-cam engines that came in the 2g Preludes. The 3g's had the A18 & A20 for 88, maybe 89 (not sure there). But the latter 3g's had another B20. The difference between the 2g B20 & 3g B20 is vast. The 2g B20 IIRC leaned forward like the A-series, the 3g B20 leaned backwards (I might have that reversed, not sure). And afaik not much interchanges between the 2 B20s...

Is your Prelude an Si or Dx?

The best possible(without a bottle of asprin) is probably the Gold top B20a that produces 160hp. That motor is usually hoarded up by the 2nd gen Accord people because that motor also drops in their cars. This motor is over 25 years old. They are rare!!! Check out 3geez.com - One Site. Three Generations of Classic Accords - Powered by vBulletin for more info.

I linked you that site because they have more in depth info on the b20a motor since the 2nd gen Accord is based off the 2nd gen Prelude(or was it the other way around?).

Dont get the gold top b20a mixed up with the 3rd generation Prelude b20a.

Re: teach me to be a luder

btw get the carb manual gearbox for better ration and swap out the 5th gear with one from a 3G accord to have good economy in that gear :)
