Icon5 performance carburetors?

so everyone i have seen is all h22 this and vtec that but i got to say carbs kinda get my rocks off !! and i was thinking about going with Weber DCOE 45 side draft carburetors but that's $600 just on the carbs that's not fabing the intake or other parts. i have seen a lot of VW guys using motorcycle carbs but there are 8 valve 1.3 or 1.5 motor. so my question, is there a alternative to $600 carbs, cuz if i had that kinda money to throw around then i would be h22 this and vtec that

thanks guys

p.s. im building the a20 motor for carbs and maybe nos

Re: performance carburetors?

That's about the only option I know of is the Weber DCOE's. There's also an intake mani for the Webers, IIRC the company that has it is Redline but not sure on that. I know I found it once online but can't remember what site. But I'm thinkin that was for the A18 not the A20. I don't remember if the intake port layout is the same on the A20 vs. A18 tho... But then again something could always be fabbed up for cycle carbs... ;)

You could do a 4xcarb setup kinda like ITB's, that would be extremely challenging to tune tho. But if you're going for power, definitely go with the Webers. Easier to tune & syncronize and they would allow so much more air/fuel mix into the A20...
