Re: swap

Honestly, it's not worth swapping a 3d gen's B20 into a 2d gen -- far too much pain for only 25 hp, and there's not alot more to get out of it. There's a JDM B20A that was in a limited number of JDM 2d gens -- 160 hp, if you can find one (and the revised hood to go with it). Unfortunately, as best I've been able to find out, it shares nothing with the B20 in a 3d gen, or the B20 in a CR-V, or with any of the other disparate engines Honda labeled as "B20" over the years!

Re: swap

Jamie's right. If you want to B20 your 2g, you'll have to find the B20 from the JDM/EDM 2g Si. The 3g B20 leans back vs the 2g JDM B20 leans forward (like the A-series). You will also need the correesponding hood (has a bubble on it for room for the B20 cam cover). Good thing is that you already have an Si so you won't need to change over the rest of the front end. If you had a DX (carbed), you would have even more work to do since things like hood, grill, etc dont swap over between the DX & Si 2g's.

Just finished reading a short history of the English language and how it's spun off terms into others. I think this must be one of those cases....

I've seen 2d gens with B-series swaps -- doesn't appear to be any more complex than any other swap. HASPORT used to have all sorts of engine mount kits for that, but all they're showing now is 4th gen kits. Might be worth a call to them anyhow.

well its not as easy as that, I recon best swap cost wise is the B20B/z from the CRV

see this thread for info on b series swaps on 2G ludes
