1987 1/2 ?

Hi, I have a Prelude SI 2.0 which the title says it is a 1987. I was told it is actually a 1987 1/2 . How can I verify this and which year 87 - 88 would I get body kit parts for if it is a half year?

I don't know much about preludes and half years you could use a vin decoder online and see the month it's made? And for the body kit I have a 86 base and a 87 si and I found body kits at a place called andysautosports.com. O and accord third gen is the same frame so if you don't find what you want on the lude then try accord. Hope that helps man

Whichever your rear looks like is the year of your car.

87 rear

88 Rear

Thanks so much! I think I am going to get the Vin number now and try a decoder. I will also see if I can get some pics of mine and the rear of it.

Learning as I go along, thanks!

You really didnt have to go through all that trouble lol. There is a sticker in the drivers door area along with the correct tire pressures that will give the manufacture date and other info lol.

All Preludes were built at the Sayama plant.

The OP's car could have been built in 87 for the 88 year; so it would say 87 on the sticker but have the 88 body style and technically be an 88. My 4th gen is technically a 1992, but on the sticker it says 1991, because it was built in 1991 for the 92 model year.
