Turn key, power goes out.

Ok so here is the scene:
I open the door things are fine. I put the key in the ignition lights come on for everything doors oil etc. I turn the key and poof! lights go out makes a click and no power for anything. Then if I wait about 20 mins I can repeat this process.

It is not the battery. When a new battery is installed the same thing happens.

Any ideas thoughts things to try??

ok man same thing happened to me. one night i was heading out to my car form class and i get in my car and it did the same thing you described. you need to go to auto zone or your local automotive store and pick up some new battery terminal connectors. they are not that expensive. but just put those on and you'll be fine.

Possibly a bad ground somewhere.

its a ground have someone turn the key and someone else look underneath and somewhere it should spark and die and where it sparks is where the bad ground is.

Re: Turn key, power goes out.

No there was some corrosion on the inside of the terminal. Cleaned it up and have not had an issue since.
