New to the site with my first Honda, or any import for that matter.

Just wanted to say Hi to everyone. I have been looking through the site all day for any information I can get regarding the "diamond in the rough" that I found. I picked up an '86 2.0 Si, built in Japan (determined via VIN) with 266K on it for $600 CDN ($100 for safety inspection from the mechanic that sold the car to me. The body was taken down to bare metal to remove any rust spots and just has primer on it at the moment. I am noticing a few small issues with it as it is 24 years old, and here is the list for right now:

1. Flashing bulb behind the tach - I suspect it's loose.
2. Common speedometer glitch as most other people have.
3. Broken glove box - won't close.

The car appears to be mechanically sound, but I have yet to test all the electrics. Here is what I plan to do with it in the future.

1. Check fuel filter
2. Check fluids and replace if need be.
3. Replace the tires with winter ones as winter is on approach. I found a set of Goodyear Nordics with 90% tread for cheap.
4. Get paint on the car.

Unfortunately I got took...

The car has a nasty oil leak and I ran out of oil as soon as I got the car home. I also found out that the windshield washer motor doesn't work. I am not pleased at this point in time and I am probably going to get my money back.

Wow sorry to hear that but if it's a easy fix for you then keep that badboy. Good luck in whatever you do.
