pgm-fi issue

ok here's the issue, my 86 lude si was driving ok then i came to a stop and when i took off again and it kinda bogged down and woulnd't go past 30 mph and the pgm-fi light is on. any ideas? i'm thinking either fuel pump or the relay.

Best and easiest thing to do is check the codes that your ECU is giving. ECU is located under the rear driverside ashtray, its an OBD-I type so you will look for a flashing red LED count the number of flashes and then cross reference to a repair manual like Haynes or Chilton, or use the search function on this forum to find out what is going on. I had more or less the same problem with my '86 and it was the EGR valve. Good Luck

ok so maybe i'm doin this wrong.i'm not sure but when i check the ecu l.e.d light, it will blink one time.....pause.....blink......pause....blink.....p ause....blink, so i believe thet to be one blink. am i wrong? how should the l.e.d blink?

how long would the pause be before it restarts the count?

Looks like the Chilton's repair manual says that your code is related to your
O2 sensors. Just remember to reset your ECU by disconnecting your battery for about 30 seconds. The pause between codes should be about 1 second and the pause at the end of multiple codes should be about 2 seconds. Hope this helps.

sweet. thanks will check tomorrow, also how would i check to see if the heated 02 is bad?

ok so it was the o2 sensor and i replaced it and it RAN good for about 24 hours and now my fuel pump wont premi itself..... need to fix this asap so text me or call me at 513-591-4115

same thing happened to mine, all i had to do was clean out my egr valve with carb cleaner
