Camaro guy here, need help with 84' prelude.

Hey guys, My name is Robert and this is my first post here and I have a couple of questions. To start I'm buying my little brother a 1984 Prelude with the dual carb motor in it. I was courious on how to clean up the engine bay a bit. The mass of vacuum lines can kiss my ass, lol. What can I remove and keep things functional? Also, what would you guys recommend in terms of pepping it up a touch. Not looking for a ton of power but enough to help the little guy scoot around. Any help would be awesome.

Um ok..... Thanks for the welcome but I actually need alittle advice. I was looking into the whole Weber Carb swap but I can't find a manifold for it. Fuel injection is my gig but I'm clueless when it comes to Honda's. I honestly didn't know that they were carbed up until the mid 80's. So what can I really do to this car with out doing a motor swap? As I stated in my first post we're not looking for power, just pepping up whats there.

Colt cams, or i think paeco industries make cams and other parts, Airbox mod, or custom intake whichever you prefer, or webbers, custom exhaust. either keep stock carbs do the stock carb mod and get rid of all emmissions stuff or just go webbers. FAQ & Technical Resources - Preludepower.com scroll down second post performance. Airbox mods there stock carb mod, black box removal 1 and 2 or just go to removing the unnessasaires as it covers everything. these things should be a good start as to what your trying to accomplish

Hey camaro guy, you need a good mechanic for a start that knows hondas well i have a 1984 ex prelude i drained the transmission fluid and replaced it with castrol dex3 i had al my belts replaced, got my timming belt kit replaced, tuned the carboraters, and removed the ai rfilter box a simplified it with a k&n pod filter. and used quality spark plugs with 8.8 mm leads. and my honda woops supras for breakfeast.

as for the vaccum lines im not all sure the 84 prelude engine bay i agree is cluttered but who cars you can dress your engine up by giving the valve cover some much loved paint and some chrome peices here and there and replacing the old black pipes with some quality silicone pipes. as for that there amazing cars and if you want to go the extra mile a t4 turbo and an aws kit deosn't hurt

For whatever reason I found myself having to log in for the first time in forever just to tell you that you are so full of **** in saying that ur 84 honda "woops supras for breakfeast" which is neither spelled right nore makes any sense whatsoever... I know this for a fact because I also own an 87 base prelude and my brother an 86 MKII and my car no where near will touch his nore any other supra more then likley not even an MKI... I mean use your head... Unless you have video proof of your honda "wooping a supra for breakfeast" then I will proceed to tell you that you are a liar.... Oh and if you do happen upon such a video make sure its at a track....

so true my boyfriend owns a 85' and 90' Supra and my 87' Prelude's power is nothing compared to the power of that of 6M and 7M-GT. we raced before and nothing i couldn't keep up. BTW he is full of **** he beats them in his dreams lol i love Preludes but i respect the Supra. FF will always have the start but FR will always catch up and pass the FF. well....depending which FF and which FR.

but that when the 87' Prelude asks for the H22a engine swap ^^
