Vacuum Issues

my 2nd gen was running good. but now when i go to start it and it will turn over but will not idle. i got starter fluid and sprayed it on the vacuum lines, but i still can't figure out why it's doing that. can anyone offer some help?

Re: Vacuum Issues

mine is doing the same. what i suggest is to spray your hoses with soapy water, watch for bubbles that indicate a leak. if that doesn't work, check the bolts in your throttlebody, because that's what's wrong with mine. hopefully you can catch it before it strips the thread. good luck!

Re: Vacuum Issues

hi! I have a 1984 prelude 1.8l 12valve 5speed dual carb and would like to fix my vacuum lines as they are not correct. Can anyone send me a picture of the engine bay showing the vacuum hose connections and where the vapour canister hose goes. Please can anyone help me on this.

Re: Vacuum Issues

There should be a copy of that chart on the underside of the hood. If it's no longer there, find a copy of the shop manual, and it'll be in there as well (should be in the fuel system section).

You could grab one at the salvage yard. You could use a t or something. All it does is give those two lines filtered air to suck in. I think that the box is a silencer. If you hook up the line from the idle control solenoid straight to a CAI tube it gets pretty loud, haha.
