86'Prelude - My first & may be the last...
Hi!
I just have to show you my beautifull Prelude, bought last summer for the price of 27500 NOK (about 4600 USD). Hehe...yeah, it seams pretty expensive, but on the other side: It's odometer only counts 36.000 kilometers (about 21126 miles). This makes it the "newest" car I have ever had. My dad had one 2nd generation Prelude EX-R back in 1983, with the Anti Lock Break system. Look at the finish - while taking into consideration that it has never been restored. I have replaced the 24 year old timing belt though... This car is just awesome! I presume you all agree!? ![]() It is my first Prelude - and may be the last - because this it the only generation which I have a history with. In addition, I do not know of any other 2nd generation Prelude in the same condition here in Norway, or in the Northern Europe for that matters :-). Best regards, 2nd gen. Prelude fan! That looks amazing, it's immaculate!!
4600 is a bit expensive for a 2nd gen but that looks well worth it, well wear!

Re: 86'Prelude - My first & may be the last...
Hehe...thank you! I'm glad you like it. It was stored by the former owner, who was also the first. She lived abroad the norwegian borders, while the car was stored in a temperate garage. This is why the odometer does not count more than 36k kilometers. I have treated it with underseal, and during the upcoming summer I will polish it to be even more sparkling than it is right now
![]() Let me know if you find any 2gen which is in better condition .Best regards, BN 26263 Last edited by BN26263; 02-08-2010 at 05:49 PM. Reason: correction |

Re: 86'Prelude - My first & may be the last...
very very nice car!
i would suggest heading over to preludepower.com as there are far more 2nd gen enthusiasts over there and they will def enjoy having your car as a part of the crew over there. i need to get my timing belt changed soon as i have just hit 68,000 miles ![]() funny thing also is my dad had an 86 white Si when i was younger and i remember driving in it (was the first car i went 100mph in) when i saw this car i had to have it. i paid around $3400 for it and it was worth every penny. Re: 86'Prelude - My first & may be the last...
I am glad my Prelude is bid welcome in your club. Here's a little story: Last week I was at the local Honda shop to obtain a new set of fog lights. The guy just looked at me as if I was superstitious
. He advised my to go to the nearest commercial auto shop where I, according to him, could get a pair of decent lights to the price of ca. 1000 NOK, i.e. about 170$. With my little head I thought that my dear Prelude deserved only original parts, so I asked if there was just a tiny little possibility that he might find such HONDA fog lights anywhere else in Europe - or the world for that matters. He smiled and shaked his head...and put his face in front of the computer. After 15 minutes, he had found what I was looking for...a pair of original Honda Prelude fog lights, stored in Belgium, to the "nice price" of 2050 NOK, i.e. 346$, each! I went from the store, happy as a little boy! ![]() I have also bought a nice set of BBS RM 15" rims. Looking forward to trying them on the car - hopefully, they will give the car an extra sporty look. |
