Anyone pull the EGR valve?

I took a look yesterday, and it's a real pain to get to it. Anyone ever try to pull the EGR valve? Three's a lot of crap between me and it which prevents getting a wrench in. I tried getting a wrench with 90 degrees access, but still no luck.

Anyone have ideas?

yeah just took mine off and on today. Used a 1/4 inch ratchet with short extension and 12 mm short socket. Workes perfectly.

Come in straight from the top

Its a bit easier if you remove the ignition coil from its bracket. Just make sure you dont lose the bushings between the coil and the bracket. (3 total)

Also when I did it, I think I removed the intake tube as well just to have a little more working room.

An extension on your socket pretty crucial, I tried it with a deep socket and it was too thick... a 1/4" or 3/8" extension should work just fine.

make sure you have a replacement gasket for when you put it back on

Did you trip the EGR check engine light?
