Creative Fix

Yo!

I have an '87 dx.

The slut doesn't want to idle. I've gone as far as to put a refurbished carburetor on there off ebay, which didnt work, then sent it to a mechanic who put new carb floats on it. Didn't work. Adjusting the idle screw doesn't work either.

Does anyone make after market carburetors? Or would there be another reason it's not idling other than the carburetor?

Alllllllllllllsooooo. The tail lights/dash lights don't work. The fuse is fine. At one point they'd turn off and on, but now they don't seem to work at all. I took a multimeter to the fuse, and it shows there's no electricity in the fuse for it.

What should I do?

Any help is appreciated fellas.

Also, more pictures!

Crx wheels I was thinking of buying

For the first you might want to check the vacuum lines for vacuum leaks.

For the lights you might want to check the connections, 20 some years of wear they might have become lose.

Re: Creative Fix

for the carbs vacuum lines. as for the lights um i would start checking the wiring after 20 or so years they start to get worn and ground out to the body which would make them from stop working.

Re: Creative Fix

How would a fella check for vacuum leaks? The mechanic I had look at it did a "smoke test" to no avail.

Where should I check the wires? Before they get to the fuse box, where are they? I sanded all the grounds in the engine bay to ensure connectivity.

Thanks for actually helping fellas. I wasn't expecting that! =D

Re: Creative Fix

I got her to idle. =] There was a crack in one of the vacuum tubes which I seal up with some glue. =]

As for the lights.. there's no power in the fuse, and also there's this orange box that isn't hooked up by the fuses. What is it?

also on the back of the radio, is something suppose to be inside that clear plastic piece?

Also, random interior shot:

Shame on all of you for changing the radio =D
No cracks in anything. All the gauges work. The drivers seat has a little tear, but I'm getting a new seat for $50. Good deal or no?
