mechanical probelms

I woke up one mourning and my prelude decided that it doesnt want to start. I turn the key and the fuel pump kicks on an i hear it kick off after pressuring the lines then I turn to start and nothing besides a clicking noise on the driver side towards the windsheild in the engine bay clicks.... Though I have replaced the starter and replaced the battery cable from the battery to the starter to see if the cable went bad... Still nothing. I though perhaps the altenator though that wouldn't stop the engine from starting. So I can also clutch/kick start the car and it runs though the battery light keeps flickering though runs fine.So if anyone has any ideas throw it out there. because I want my car back, I miss my prelude...

Dead battery, or bad alternator.

When the starter just sits there and clicks that means there isn't enough power to start the car. take it to pep boys and they can do a charging system diagnostic. They have a machine that will specifically tell you the problem. I've worked there before, and used them a million times. They work.

Re: mechanical probelms

I actually work at Oreilly's autoparts.... I have charged and tested the battery its all good... So charge isnt the problem just the starter wont kick out the gear and turn the engine...though the starter may be gone although its completely new... So it could be a dead starter I will have to test it... I do need an altanator though... Just don;t feel like getting to it it looks like a giant pain in the ass.
