84lude is on a distinguished road
Icon5 1984 Base Prelude

Well so far this is the only site that i have found where i can ask questions bout the 84' prelude. now my main question is that is the carb set up is that a straight carb or is it also electronic controlled? Also the one that im picking up has about 200K on it. Would i be wrong to just bring it to my shop and get the belt and pump replaced. Now for down the road projects what motors can be swapped into it with the least amount of customizing. I was thinking a F22 or a B-Series. But that wont be for a while. My last question is that a friend has a set of 17 or 18" rims. would you guys say that a little to big? by asking that would it rub lock to lock?

Re: 1984 Base Prelude

It's straight carb'd, old school.
Replace all belts if you need to...better be on the safe side right?

as for engine replacement choices, you have the venerable b20a(the 2nd gen Prelude/3rd gen Accord B20a see: wiki) that is popular but also extremely rare to locate nowadays. There's also the A20a, the 2.0Si motor(fuel injected). And of course, the almighty H22: http://preludezone.com/showthread.php?t=16775

The bad thing about your situation is that there is not a known company that makes motor mounts for other B series motors. Not since at least a decade ago that is... you also should think about converting carb'd to Fuel injection, which in itself, is a pain.
