Valve Cover Painting

I decided about a week ago to paint my valve cover and so I gathered the supplies. Well I only needed 1 can of red and black as I wasnt going to cover that much area.

I started about 2 days ago just taking it off the first evening and getting dirt and grease off of it then fell asleep. Next I spent most of my time wire brushing the old paint off. After that I prepped it for paint. I cleaned with a wet rag to just get the metal shavings off then a paper towel after letting is sit for a couple seconds so drying would be easier.

Then I taped off the holes. I simply used masking tape and a box knife to cut the tape into te shape needed. Then double checked everything then began to paint. I put 3 or so coats on then let it sit. If any other parts need be painted do so now. They usually need 1 to 2 coats max. After this Whatever mods is up to you.

As you can see I went back and wire brushed the Stripes and Lettering and added another touch up.

We'll that is all I have to say. Tell me what you guys think of the transformation as I did not take any pics while working due to the fact I was too into it.. ;p
