Icon9 screeching noise please help

hi all,
i have 1984 Honda prelude, recently the car has developed a screechy squeaky noise when turning but only turning to the left i have not had a Honda before and i love this car to bits it needs a bit of work on it but I'll that for later. this needs to be done asap as i am scared it might cause more problems.
all help is appreciated. it does it all the time and i have also observed in a last few days even does it over humps and bumps on the road.
i;ll be having a look at it tomorrow morning first thing and an answer would be appreciated now.
thanks guys,

Well if it's just turning, it could be your power steering, but that's a seriously awful noise.

Re: screeching noise please help

Is it when you turn the wheel a little, or all the way?

I'd think that something may be rubbing on your tire, you may be low on power steering fluid (possible leak?), your power steering pump may be starting to go (but then I would expect noise in either direction), you may have a bad power steering actuator (once again, I'd expect noise in both directions), it could be a bushing or bearing, lots of possibilities...

Re: screeching noise please help

Belt might be worn out... If there is slop in the belt it could be jumping/rubbing on the pulley. Hints the noise when going over bumbs
