Battery Light Stays on?? '87

My '87 Prelude's Battery light stays on after shutting the car off for some reason.. Anyone know what might cause this? I have no idea why it's on. It cranks right up without any hesitation or drag on the starter.

With the key off?

Maybe some sort of weird electric wiring.

Yes, this is with the key off. Does the battery light come on when something is draining it??? I know the glove compartment light stays on. Also... I pulled the stereo out, and some dumbs**t cut the the harness and made up their own thing... I hate people that don't know how to install a stereo. I just want to beat the **** out of them. It causes so many problems for other people later on. Is there a wire that in the stereo harness that would cause the light to come on??

Could the ignition switch cause this?

OMG.... this is my brother's car. But I LOVE IT... I had the whole dash and door panels off in like 10 minutes. It's ridiculously easy to work on the insides. I wish all cars were like this. No clue what the battery light staying on is yet, but the glove compartment light killed my battery ... So I'm currently doing modifications to the dash and checking all the wiring. Now for the motor mount. Also... I can't tell if it's the ignition switch because the stupid switch is a compact little POS that won't come apart. Anyone come up with an idea please let me know.

a glove compartment light killed your battery??? first time I heard that one. Just unplug the lil someofabetch. wish I could help you more.

You could go to pepboys and get their electrical system diagnostic. They hook up a machine to your alternator and battery and put it threw a few tests. It'll tell them exactly what the problem is. I'm not sure how much it'll run you though. I want to say its free b/c its only a 5 minute thing, but I can see pep boys charging for it anyway. When I used to work there I wouldnt mind doin it for people if they asked me, maybe you could find someone that'll help you out.
