Some questions about car

Hello prelude fanatics,

I'm Ruben, 20 years old and live in the Netherlands in Europe.
I'm looking for a car to drive me to work and just for cruising around a bit.
The Honda Prelude could be the right car for that job, but I've got some questions about it.

I saw an Hond Prelude ex 1.8L carb. for sale from the year 1984 on the internet.
95000 km (59375 miles) on the clock for the price of 1400 Euro's. In my opinion that's not expensive. Link: http://link.marktplaats.nl/178461980

Now some questions:

Are the parts for this car easy to get?
Are these parts expensive?
Is this car reliable?

I will be using this car for around 3/4 years.

Bye

Re: Some questions about car

The Honda Prelude is gr8 car I believe everyone here would agree with me. Now if the car is missing alot of things or damaged parts I bet you could find one in a junkyard though I wouldnt count on it. Now if you go online for the parts they are not expensive but not cheap in my opinion.

Some members can tell you about the carbed model as I dont know much about it. I had a carbed older 2nd gen civic and it ran fine as much as running 30 miles a day and putting me around town and was fine.

Reliable yes.

Also the Fortunate thing is that the 1984 through 1987 is basically the same car so parts are a lil easier to get because of that.

Re: Some questions about car

damn, might be a good deal, I don't know much about the old ones... that one looks clean. that is not many miles for the year, so if it has been well maintained it should be reliable... and if you can find a junk yard with the parts, surely they would not cost much.

Ok, lots of good thinks about this car.
I will earn some more money and then I'll try to buy it.

Re: Some questions about car

I have an Si, but I did have an 88 Accord carburated previously. The carb is OK as long as it behaves, but once it starts causing problems its a real pain to get operating correctly again. The car never did work right after the carb started acting up. I took it to a garage and they said to chuck it and look for something with fuel injection. There just aren't a whole lot of people left who work on carbs.
